More art by Vincent:

A Cross Atop Skyscrapers

"Maybe if Jesus lived nowadays, we as modern people would hang Him on the cross on the top of a skyscraper instead of Golgotha, and we would show Him to many people in a big football stadium so many can come, see, and mock Him."

                           --Vincent Arishvara

A Nail in His Hand

"His hand, that brought healing and touched so many humans' hearts, looks stiff, unmoved.  A dove symbolizing peace comes and brings fresh leaves to the wounded hand.  Blood that sheds from it is pouring down into a golden cup, so everyone who drinks of it will never thirst again."

                           --Vincent Arishvara

Under the Cross

"Under the cross He gives hope to the kids who come to Him with tears.  Jesus loves little children, maybe the little children are the ones who still care about Him.  The spear, gun, and knife symbols are of power and anger that point to Him.  He bows down, looks weak.  He has to look weak so He can save those little children from our power and anger."

                           --Vincent Arishvara

Cross X

"'It is finished!' He shouts.  Everything is paid in full.  His face is facing up: 'Why do you leave me, Father?'  His body is red because of blood.  Many people come to see Him but they don't understand why He should die on the cross.  Many people -- soldiers, priests, babies, women, men, and teenagers with Walkmans, Coca Cola and cell phones -- many people who never understand why Jesus should die.  He will bring us to the green pastures if you believe in Him through the cross."

                           --Vincent Arishvara

More on Vincent:

Vincent told Pat Plant that he has always made things.  He grew up in Indonesia and really started to get involved in artistic work in high school.  He went to college in Indonesia to be an architect, and he graduated and worked as an architect for 5 years. Vincent also was VERY involved as a youth leader in Indonesia and felt called to be a pastor.

Then he came to America and landed in San Jose, taking English as a Second Language and somehow finding Trinity Presbyterian Church. Jack Longley found out Vincent liked youth, the church needed a youth leader, so Vincent became their youth leader.

For the past few years he has been making some religious art for both Christmas and Easter each year.  Vincent likes creating religious art because it makes him feel close to God.  Also he likes natural materials (twigs, sticks, clay, etc.) -- see art above.
