PEACEMAKING ADVOCATE
GEOFF BROWNING |
|
Geoff Browning is the part-time Peacemaking Advocate for the Presbytery of San Jose. Geoff lives in Redwood City and attends the First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto.
Geoff's job description includes "stirring the pot" within the Presbytery of San Jose churches for active participation in peacemaking. Geoff will encourage each of our churches to recommit to the PC (USA) Committment to Peacemaking.
In his letter applying for this post he wrote:"I believe that I would make a good Peacemaking Advocate because I have an interest and experience in peacemaking from the micro to the macro level, from interpersonal conflicts to conflicts between nations. I have a good familiarity with Presbyterian polity and members of the PC(USA) Peacemaking team in Louisville. I also understand that there are a diversity of views about peacemaking and the need for peacemaking in the world and our communities. Because of that, it is necessary to help congregations discover what elements of peacemaking are useful to them. Those elements can then be used to build a foundation of relationships and learning."
Geoff can be reached via email at geoff@sanjosepby.org.
