Jesus calls us to love our neighbor… but how? And when? Even if it’s difficult? AHHH!!! Sometimes I’m too busy, or too tired, or too….
JustFaith is a weekly class that involves reading exciting and interesting books on various topics, watching riveting films that appeal to all senses, and holding weekly discussions based on new learning. These activities are opened and closed in prayer including scripture, spiritual writing, and music with time for individual reflection and communal response. Several times during the year you participate in “border crossings”: volunteer experiences in areas that are unfamiliar and engaging. There are two one-day retreats to bond the group.
JustFaith is a life-changing experience which examines the themes of common good; shared rights and responsibilities; value of human dignity, solidarity, respect for creation; grassroots wisdom and energy; and the call to stand with the poor. These principles invite us to some remarkable possibilities in the name of love and compassion. The vision of JustFaith speaks to life-giving choices on behalf of a world that struggles to survive. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore new pathways for your life, your community, your heart.
JustFaith helps us to be sure of our biblical direction and motivated to not only to be a good neighbor, but to be a more compassionate and caring Christian.
The three largest poverty-focused Catholic organizations in the country – Catholic Charities USA, Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Catholic Relief Services – and the largest ecumenical hunger-focused Christian organization in the U.S., Bread for the World, are partners and promoters of JustFaith. |
“I would call it a new Pentecost. But the reality is, it is these JustFaith people who are willing to come together, ask the questions, and look at the issues, make some changes, and challenge things. It is a Pentecost, it’s a new life, it’s energy. It has changed the church, it has changed me.”
“After going through JustFaith I can never look at a homeless person and walk past and dismiss him or her again.”
