Isaiah's Gala Sendoff

On Sunday, July 14 at 4 pm Covenant Church pulled out all the stops and presented a tune-filled, heart-felt, joyous celebration of the life and gifts of our beloved pastor Isaiah Jones as he retired from pastoral life and his seven years of service to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto.

Several large gospel choirs, soloists and friends from his long past in a variety of churches and positions enthralled the full sanctuary full of well-wishers. Isaiah played several of his well-known hymns and praise songs, most specially, "God Has Smiled On Me."

A diagnosis of leukemia precipitated his retirement, though at this time

his medical status seems to be “full remission.” 

 

Isaiah is now staying with family in Southern California.  He sends his gratitude for the powerful prayers of our Presbytery.
