Walk humbly with your God

 

Verses for reflection:

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land

- 2 Chronicles 7:14

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.             

- Psalm 25:9

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-12:1

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.   

- Ephesians 4:2-3

Prayer

As General Assembly approaches, we pray for humility.  We pray that we will be a Presbytery that models Ephesians 4: 2, 3 – a Presbytery made up of people completely humble and gentle, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  In our personal lives and in our corporate life together, we humble ourselves before you and seek your face.  As we do this, we thank you for your promises to us:  you will heal us, you will teach us your way, and you will provide rest for our souls.  We are grateful to you, O God, for your faithfulness to us.  Amen
