Beth Wilbanks Robb

   Artist Beth Wilbanks Robb of Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church has designed a new stained-glass window for the church Narthex , the Trinity window:

Beth says, "The Trinity is not experienced in isolation, but through God's creation all around us.  Doves are messengers of divine grace.  their intertwining flight expresses the intrinsic quality of God's grace pervading our lives.

"Those we love are given to us by grace to be enjoyed and cherished until called home to live with God.  Their spirits fly away from earthly cares and soar beyond our experience, yet remain ever-present in our hearts."

BANNER OF PEACE

Another interesting project Beth undertook at the Sunnyvale Church was the creation of a banner to mark and mourn the beginning of the war in Iraq in March,2003. She worked out a design for the banner of peace to be made from interlocking cloth doves. The doves were distributed to people attending a prayer vigil for peace at the church. People were urged to write a prayer for peace on their fabric dove and give them back for the banner which was to be made the week following the service. Banner helpers worked one long evening to piece the doves together following Beth's plan.
