Gary Demarest of the PCUSA Peace, Unity, and Purity (PUP) Task Force told San Jose Presbytery meeting attendees that the report looks at how the denomination can live with differing views on basic issues.

Rev. Demarest explained how the task force met over five years and came together to produce the report. He urged Presbyterians to reflect prayerfully on it.

In other meeting activity, the Presbytery said farewell to Rev. Ron McHattie, who accepted a call as Interim Pastor in Bellingham, WA., and it received Rev. Samuel Ji Woong Choi, Honorably Retired.

The Presbytery appointed The Rev. Isaiah Jones as Minister Commissioner to the 2006 General Assembly; high school senior and Stone Church congregant Laura Kate Anderson as Youth Advisory Delegate (YAD) to General Assembly 2006; and The Rev. Jim Bennett as Commissioner to the Synod.
