The Presbytery of San Jose, part of the Synod of the Pacific, is located in northern California and serves 46 congregations located in four counties (Santa Clara, San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey). Our churches serve over 11,000 members.


The Monarch butterfly, simple and gentle; bold and beautiful, is the symbol of the Presbytery of San Jose. To us, the monarch butterfly represents transformation, resurrection, and the beauty and amazing complexity of God’s creation. Santa Cruz and the Monterey peninsula are within our Presbytery and the winter home of the migrating Monarchs.
